PCB manufacturing
The PCB consists of several glass-fiber sheets and thin copper foils. The copper is partly removed in order to create conductive paths between components.
All the sheets are laid-up and bonded under a press. The holes for components are drilled and very thin layer of copper is deposited on the hole walls.
The PCB is tested by optical and electrical systems to ensure that everything is working.
The solder-mask is applied after successful testing to protect the copper surface and prevent solder shorting between components during the PCB assembly. This mask covers whole PCB with an exception of holes for THD components, pads and places for mounting.
To improve the solderability while PCB is assembled, the final adjustment is applied.
